Minister’s Report

v      Beatrice’s February absence: Possible dates for the whole trip: Feb 7 – 27.

Since Tim & Michelle are doing the first service in February, Beatrice won’t be doing any of the services in February.  This is OK with the Board.

RE Report

v      Youth Group Update –help for high school group

The middle school group will be using the “In Our Hands” curriculum.  One or more leaders are needed for the high school group.  Beatrice will ask Tim if he’d be willing to switch from the middle school group to the high school group.  Beatrice would like to talk with HS group about a “Coming of Age” program.

v      Adult Group: Building Your Own Theology curriculum. They recommend that each participant have their own.  Who would like one?  How many should we order?

This will start on Wednesday, January 26th at 7:30 pm.  We will order 5 books for people in the class to purchase for themselves.

Old Business

v      The new SUU website is www.sewarduu.org

Beatrice has discussed Jerry Dixon’s offer to manage the funds in the Charles Schwaab for SUU with the PNWD executive.  She feels it probably wouldn’t be a good idea or even legal, but there are alternative ways, such as in a bequest, for Jerry to invest and manage money on behalf of SUU if he wants to do that.  SUU should develop a financial investment policy.  Jerry and Roger were suggested as possible members of a task force to work on that.

 Upcoming Services

v      People to give sermons from Church of the Larger Fellowship in February & March.

Beatrice reviewed what was in the first packet from the Church of the Larger Fellowship’s “Church on Loan” program.  Naomi will use one of these programs on February 13th.  Possibly Deborah or Jerry will do one on February 20th.  Besides what is in the notebook we got, some of the programs can be downloaded directly off the internet.

New Business

v      General Assembly will be in Fort Worth, Texas, June 23-27.  Can we send someone—adult & youth?  Congregation presidents can attend for free. gaoffice@uua.org

We will discuss this more at the March meeting when Naomi knows her summer plans.  We may need to have some fund raisers to pay for this.

v      PNWD nominee for UUA Board of Trustees – Elizabeth Greene—Beatrice recommends her.  This is only relevant if we send a delegate to GA.

v      Do we want to advertise in the GA program for a minister?

Not at this time.  We need to know what we can offer a potential minister.  It was decided to continue with the plan to develop an ad for UU World magazine.
