There will be an RE committee meeting that everyone is encouraged to attend on Tuesday, August 30 at 7 PM at the Coffee House. Milne *Old Business – Hiring an Administrator - Beatrice has gotten a list of names of people who may be interested in the SUU Administrator job. Naomi will write a job description and send it to board members. It was decided to pay the administrator $15 per hour up to $450 (30 hours a month). We will reevaluate the position at the November board meeting. OWL Training Report – Both Tim and Diane attended the OWL training and thought it was very good. Diane would like to eventually become a trainer. She would also like to get trained in all the age levels and offer programs in Seward. New Board Members – Diane Maythorne has agreed to serve on the SUU board. Upcoming prgrms – Janine Larson, the Pacific Northwest District Executive, will be in Seward in September. Budget – Beatrice has a list of last year’s pledges. She will try to come up with an estimate of what pledges we may be getting this year to help with planning the budget. The board had the following considerations, based on last year’s budget: · Check with O’Connors about the rent · Raise visiting minister amount to $1000 (~$300 per visit) · There are new hymnals available (~$16 + Shipping) · We already used funds for RE training and travel for OWL training · $455 was spent on nursery care last year ($15 / week) · Remove budget items under MINISTER · Add Budget item for ADMINISTRATOR at $450 per month ($5400 + benefits?) · Telephone should be less this year (~$200?) · OUTREACH only used $140 last year · Increase INSURANCE to $800 · Increase travel $1000 (from MINISTER) · Phyllis will check on piano tuning cost. A piano tuner is coming to Seward this month. · Decrease ADVERTIZING (under ONE TIME EXPENSES) · Consider budgeting for a new copy machine (~$500) for the time when the one we have no longer works · Reimburse Deborah and Sharyl for the Mt. Marathon Books ($240)
